Water Pump Sizing Estimator

Suggest a target flow rate (GPM) and pressure band for a residential booster / well / transfer pump based on fixture count, vertical lift, and pipe run. Planning-only guidance — NOT an engineering specification.

Limitations: This is a rough sizing aid, not a hydraulic calculation. It does not account for pipe diameter, fittings count, well drawdown, simultaneous-use factors, well recovery rate, or pump curve match. Over- or under-sizing a pump can damage plumbing or burn out the motor.

What to do next: For a real installation, use the pump manufacturer's sizing worksheet or a licensed plumber / well contractor. Measure static water level for well pumps. Low-flow fixtures reduce peak demand significantly — newer code-compliant homes rarely exceed 10 GPM even with 3 baths in simultaneous use.
PLANNING GUIDANCE ONLY. Do not use this as a final pump specification. Pump selection has safety, longevity, and code implications — consult a licensed professional before purchasing.
