Voltage Divider Calculator

Solve for any of Vin, Vout, R1, or R2 in an unloaded voltage divider. Standard formula Vout = Vin × R2 / (R1 + R2).

Limitations: UNLOADED divider — adding a load resistor R_L on Vout pulls the actual Vout below this prediction. For load-aware design, model R_L in parallel with R2. Also assumes ideal resistors (no temperature drift, no tolerance).

What to do next: For practical designs, keep R1 and R2 within 1–10× the load impedance. Tighter ratios stiffen the output but draw more standby current; looser ratios are more efficient but sag under load.
