Sheet Goods Cut Estimator
Estimate how many full sheets of plywood, drywall, MDF, OSB, or subfloor you need from total coverage area and sheet size.
Limitations: Does not model specific cut layouts — complex cuts with many narrow rips may waste much more than the waste % suggests. Does not account for grain direction or factory defects.
What to do next: Common waste allowances: 10% for straight walls / subfloor, 15% for rooms with many cuts, 20–25% for curved or patterned cuts. Buy an extra sheet when shipping is expensive.
