Drive Time / Travel Time
Estimate how long it takes to cover a distance at a given speed. Distance ÷ speed, plus optional stops.
Limitations: Constant-speed approximation — real trips vary (traffic, weather, refuel, urban slowdowns). Add a 10–15% buffer for trips over 4 hours. Does NOT enforce legal speed limits or commercial DOT hours-of-service rules.
What to do next: Use AVERAGE speed, not posted speed limit. A 65-mph posted highway is typically ~58 mph average once you include merges and slowdowns.
