Baseboard Trim Estimator
Estimate linear feet of baseboard trim and stock sticks to buy for a room, deducting door openings and optional wall cutouts.
Limitations: Assumes a rectangular room. L-shaped rooms, bay windows, alcoves, and walk-in closets should be broken into rectangles and summed. Miter waste on complex rooms often exceeds 10%.
What to do next: Most pros mitre-cut outside corners and cope inside corners — copes are more forgiving to wall movement. For paint-grade MDF baseboard, 10% waste is usually enough; for stain-grade hardwood, 12–15%.
